Deer Hunting Videos - If You Can't See It You Can't Shoot It

We have all seen, and if you haven't you should, deer hunting videos shot from a tree stand. Watching the bow hunters calling in a nice buck to a clearing, and waiting as the big boy gets close enough to place an expert shot on the unsuspecting victim.

So there you sit in your tree stand watching for your trophy buck, and then it happens. You hear a noise in the brush and your heart starts racing like it is going to literally come out of your chest. As the bumbling buck gets closer and closer you position yourself, and wait for what seems like an eternity. Then like it was written in a movie script he appears and you can hardly contain your excitement, but you know it is crucial to wait for the right moment, so you can take the perfect shot and bring this big boy home.

As he strolls along obviously attracted to the carefully laid out scent traps you have placed for him. Your mind starts flashing back to those deer hunting videos and how it is playing out just like those videos. You realize it is just a matter of time before you get a clear shot at your soon to be trophy buck. As the seconds pass by you begin to realize that you have failed to clear out enough room for you to pull off the greatest kill of your life. Now I know that most hunters, and am not ashamed to admit that I have been in this situation a few times myself. I used to get so excited about finding a hot trail, and setting up my stand and not even thinking about the obvious. It is hunting 101, but so many hunters fail to do it that I think it is worth mentioning.

Remember no matter how well you scout an area, or how well prepared you are if you can't see the buck, you can't shoot him. So a little tip to all the new hunters, and a friendly reminder to all the veterans out there do not forget to take the time and effort to clear out your spot. Now I do not want you to break out your trusty chain saw, but there are some excellent quite tools that will get the job done, and I am sure you have most of them laying around the garage.

You will need to get yourself a nice little hand saw to get those low lying limbs that can get in the way. Pick up a set of loppers, with these bad boys you will be able to trim most small diameter limbs, and you should be able to reach a few more limbs that you will not be able to with the hand saw. The last thing you should look into is a poll saw which will allow you to reach the highest of limbs. All of these tools are found at your local hardware stores.

You want to make sure that you only clear out enough room to give yourself a nice clear shot. Remember that the the limbs also provide you cover, so make sure you leave yourself hidden. Do not forget to clear yourself a path so you can get to and from your stand without causing to much of a ruckus. This is a common theme that runs through several deer hunting videos, and is a practice that once done right will be easy to maintain all year round and is definitely something that should be done on a monthly basis. Keep your area clean, and never miss a chance to bag a big one just because there is a limb in the way.
